Chemical Composition Differences
Nickel 200 and Nickel 201 are both pure nickel alloys, and the main difference in chemical composition is the carbon content. Nickel 200 is a commercially pure nickel, with an NI content of about 99.6%, and a small amount of FE and other trace elements, and this high purity allows Nickel 200 to have excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. Nickel 201 is a low-carbon nickel alloy, with a carbon content of less than 0.02%, so Nickel 201 can effectively prevent the formation of carbides at high temperatures.

Nickel 200 has excellent corrosion resistance and remains stable in many corrosive media, particularly in neutral and alkaline environments. However, corrosion resistance in high temperature carbonaceous environments is better with Nickel 201.
Differences in mechanical properties
Nickel 200 has high strength and flexibility, good ductility and toughness at room temperature, and exhibits very high tensile and yield strengths, generally suitable for applications requiring high mechanical strength and general corrosion resistance.
Nickel 201, on the other hand, performs even better at high temperatures. Due to its low carbon content, Nickel 201 retains high ductility and tensile strength at elevated temperatures and does not form carbides at elevated temperatures as do materials with higher carbon content.

Nickel 200 and Nickel 201 both have excellent corrosion resistance, high electrical conductivity, and good mechanical properties, but they differ in their high-temperature performance. Nickel 200 is more suitable for high purity and electrical conductivity requirements at room temperature and is suitable for use in petrochemical, aerospace, military, electroplating, food processing, and other applications.
Nickel 201, on the other hand, performs better at high temperatures (especially above 600°C) and is suitable for use in heat exchanger zones and high-temperature chemical equipment, aerospace, nuclear reactors, and battery manufacture.
